Nur Jahan was a 35 year old widow when Jehangir who was the Mughal emperor at the time fell in love and married her. Soon she managed to become his favourite consort and she enjoyed authority and privilege that none of his other queens had. She ruled the empire in his name and also minted coins in her name such was the complete trust and absolute love that the king had for her. Nur Jahan in turn was a commendable ruler and was at par with anyone r be it in hunting or leading an army during wars. Her affection for Jehangir also could not be challenged as she also went to battles to rescue her husband something that was rare at the time. Theirs is a mature love story that has not been immortalized by any monument or building but their mutual trust and dependence is what makes is more endearing.

So they let him marry her, but kidnap him bring him back to his town. In grief, Sassi runs into the dessert in search of her Punnu eventually dies through bad circumstances that befall her. Punnu comes looking for her when he discovers that she has died, he too dies in grief.
