Friday is considered especially sacred for Goddess Mahalaxmi, and devotees spend the day in her service and worship. After sunset, the centuries old idol of the Goddess is placed in a palkhi and taken around the temple in a grand procession. Devotees sing hymns, offer prayers, and perform parikrama. The ceremony concludes with a traditional salute from a historic cannon, continuing a cherished ritual that has endured for generations.
