Season 1

According to legend, a powerful demon named Kolhasur troubled both humans and the gods in the region. Unable to bear his tyranny, the gods prayed to Goddess Mahalaxmi for help. The Goddess defeated Kolhasur in battle, restoring peace and harmony. Before his death, Kolhasur requested that the Goddess remain in the land and that the place be known by his name. It is believed that this led to the establishment of the Mahalaxmi Temple and the naming of Kolhapur.
